Get your national strike ballot in the post today

With our national strike ballot closing on Monday (13 May) this really is your last chance to vote and have your say on the PCS national pay campaign.

If you have already voted, thank you for taking part. If you haven’t, please make sure you post your ballot paper now to ensure it arrives with the independent scrutineers on time. You can still post after today, but if you do it is worth sticking a first-class stamp on to the envelope to ensure your paper arrives in time.

As this is a disaggregated ballot, every vote counts, so we are urging every civil service member to vote yes for action on pay where they work.

The last few weeks have seen incredible efforts from members all around the UK. They have been getting the word out, creating a buzz and a sense urgency around the ballot. Many members are all too aware of how low pay is having a direct impact on standards of living, health, families and colleagues.

PCS is demanding the government addresses this. But for us to take effective action, we need to get a minimum 50% turnout in each employer group in this postal ballot because of the government’s anti-union law. So, if you haven’t posted yet, now’s the time – and don’t hesitate to ask your fellow members. Every vote counts.

It is worth remembering what we are fighting for:

  • a cost-of-living rise, with an inflation-proofed increase plus pay restoration
  • pay equality across the various government departments
  • a living wage of £15 an hour
  • a London Weighting provision of a minimum £5,000 a year
  • a minimum of 35 days annual leave
  • a significant shortening of the working week with no loss of pay.

The ballot closes on Monday (13 May) so get that ballot posted today in time for it to count.

Have you voted?

There’s still time to vote in our national ballot and strengthen PCS’s hand in negotiating with the government for a fair deal on pay and to stop attacks on jobs and terms and conditions.
