The Professional and Managers’ Association (PMA) promotes the interests of senior and specialist grades among PCS members.
The PMA will provide information on issues specific to senior grades and professionals. It will promote the interests of senior and specialist grades and advise the NEC accordingly. It will also work with and produce guidance for other PCS structures: groups, branches, equality forums etc.
It will consider the professional skills for government agenda, examine links between pay and qualifications and discuss management training and career development issues.
The PMA will identify issues of concern, exchange information and advise PCS on bargaining areas. It will also be consulted on possible structures and provide cohesion across PCS on specialist and management issues.
The PMA is aimed at PCS members who are senior managers (SEO and above), those who have a professional qualification or who hold a post where a professional qualification is expected.
The next PMA forum meeting will take place on October 8th at PCS HQ in Clapham. An agenda will be circulated shortly but the timing of the meeting is 11.00 to 1500 and a buffet lunch will be provided. The forum is currently open to any PMA graded member of PCS who has registered their interest.
