Steering group

The Support and Related Grades Section Steering Group met on the 21st July to progress plans for re-launching the section.

Attendance was spread across most groups, with the following taking part in this meeting,

Stephanie Pearce Met Police Group. Graham Murray MOJ. Steven Mason HMRC. Lionel Welch Pegasus. Dave Sexton Met Police. Calum Campbell MOD. Peter Sanderson G4S DWP. and Les Albrecht House of Commons

Other members of the Steering Group are;

William McKean DfID, Wendy Evans. Land Registry. Elaine Tracy Met Police. James Stewart. Scottish Court Service. Kevin O'Connor Royal Parks.

The steering group, with the assistance of Chris Baugh assistant general secretary are planning a re-launch conference for the end of November 2008.

Only those registered on the system as support grades will have the opportunity of attending this event.

Groups and national branches will be asked to nominate delegates to attend the event. The size of group delegations will be based on the number of support grades that each group or national branch has registered on the Commix system.

The proviosional Conference timetable is set out below;

30 September 2008- closing date for figures of registered support grades. To assess delegation size

1 October 2008 - Notice to Groups of delegation entitlement

3 October 2008 - Request to Groups for Conference motions

27 October 2008 - Groups to make nominations for delegates, officers and the executive committe

3 November 2008 - deadline for motions to be submitted

10 November 2008 - Conference timetable issued

24 November - 2008Conference to take place in week commencing

A group and branch briefing will be issued outlining the time scale and requesting all reps to make sure that their support grade members are registerd
