The PCS Policy and Resources Committee (PRC) met on 10 February and urged reps to continue to build the “yes” vote in the national ballot.
The PRC received positive reports on the response of members to the ballot, and decided that an NEC meeting would be held on 25 February to consider the result and decide on the timing and form of industrial action if members had voted for action.
A meeting of senior reps from every part of the union will be held on 26 February to discuss the action and the latest information on the position of the employer, our legal action and lobbying of MPs.
Reps are encouraged to use branch briefing BB.23.10, which contains details of the government’s cuts proposals, in discussions with members. A further members’ leaflet is also available.
Please continue to make every effort to build the `yes’ vote in this very important ballot. We firmly believe a negotiated agreement is possible if the employer is willing to sit down with the union and discuss a fair settlement which protects members’ entitlements. This would be a key step in the defence of our jobs and services.
