The Central Office of Information (COI) faces closure despite being one of the governments most efficient bodies, ether meeting or exceeding it’s targets for each of the past 20 years. The COI works with government departments helping them to coordinate press work around major events using experience to coordinate and plan for such events.
Please take a moment to write to your MP to ask them to save the COI.
The number of gallery assistants in the National Gallery have been cut to such an extent that exhibitions and gallery staff are less accessible to the public, while the safety of priceless works are also being compromised.
You can help protect and improve the National Gallery by emailing Gallery CEO, Dr Nicholas Penny and asking him to help support our campaign to increase the number of staff.
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has appointed two private sector companies at its contact centres in Lillyhall, Cumbria and Bathgate, West Lothian.
PCS argue that instead of throwing money at private sector companies while making over 10,000 staff redundant, HMRC should invest in its current workforce.

PCS have launched a campaign to save messenger service jobs at Jobcentres.
Balfour Beatty, who employ the messengers, have been instructed by the Department for Work and Pensions to make savings on its contract. They are seeking to do so by cutting about 250 office service assistants (OSAs) at jobcentre plus offices across the UK. PCS members are arguing that this is a false economy as it will only result in staff who currently deliver vital services in jobcentres becoming their customers.
Please write to your MP and ask them to support our campaign to save messenger jobs.
Information systems and services (ISS) management within the Ministry of Defence are carrying out a 'staff efficiency programme' that could put ISS jobs at risk. The stated aim of the programme is to reduce staff numbers in ISS by 10-12%, regardless of the impact upon the business.
Do you work in ISS within the MoD? If so, please email your MP to let them know you’re concerned about cuts to information system services in the ministry of defence.
Glasgow is set to lose three valuable job centres; Glasgow City, Shawlands and Hillington, at a time of unprecedented, still rising high unemployment, especially for the young people of Glasgow.
We believe this is bad for the people and businesses of Glasgow and the government should be investing in more support for the unemployed not less.
Please sign our petition against these closures today.
PCS is campaigning for fair pay for our members who work for the Scottish Government. We are asking members to write to their MSPs asking them to lobby the Scottish Government in support.
The government are planning to privatise criminal crime enforcement.
Presently court enforcement officers work hard to ensure that sentences are relevant and effective. They protect the public by collecting fines from those who commit crimes and openly ignore the courts; they ensure justice is done, with the vital support of court administration staff.
We are concerned that private companies will only target soft options for easy money as they put profit before justice and employ unacceptable debt collecting tactics.
Please take one minute to email your MP to ask them to support our campaign to stop this privatisation.
