Welcome to the Commercial Sector

Since the formation of PCS, the Commercial Sector has had a growing role in the union, bringing together representatives from the major privatised contracts in the civil service.

We've had some major successes, including driving the issue of the disparity between pay and conditions for ex-civil servants and those employed directly by private companies (the so called "two-tier workforce" issue).

We've established bargaining groups for some employers, and had recent successes in ensuring that unions are well represented on company Works Councils.

Over the coming weeks and months we will be increasing the amount of information that appears on the site, but to begin we are telling you:
