Getting involved with our union at Capgemini

Becoming active in our union at PCS

A small contribution makes a big difference

‘We achieved much as a result of the active involvement of our members in the last Capgemini redundancy round operating in the worst circumstances.

We persuaded Capgemini to redefine their targets, supported members through the consultation process and in doing so saved jobs.

This would not have been achieved had it not been for the active involvement of members. Get active and join us in protecting our jobs and promoting our future.Chris Morrison Capgemini branch president

PCS, our union at Capgemini, is a member led organisation. Our strength comes from bringing together members across a wide range of different jobs and workplaces. With a strong membership our union gains credibility and this strengthens our voice in the workplace.

So we want to find new ways of introducing members - you - to union activity and to give you the support you need to become more active.

Becoming a workplace rep isn't the only way of getting more active. There are lots of ways you can become an active member - it really depends on what you are interested in and what you would like to try!

Find out more info about how small things can make a big difference in our 'Being a Rep' section

Click here to get an idea of the sort of work you could get involved in if you do decide to become a workplace rep. PCS will always support you in this role - this site is one of the main ways we can do this. We have produced some ‘job descriptions’ to give you some real guidance on what branch roles involve.

The 'Your Rights' page tells you about the legal rights you have as a rep

Being a PCS representative

With elections coming up we invite you to get involved in our branch. There are many roles that you can perform and these can be tailored to suit the amount of time you have available.

All PCS reps will receive training to assist them in their role as well as mentoring and support from other members of the branch team.

We have a job description here that you can access to get a real feel for the role. You will also find there job descriptions for the elected branch positions of secretary, president, treasurer and organiser.

Branch members can be elected to roles on the Aspire Group Executive Committee, we’ve included some detail to give you a flavour for what goes on at this committee which is elected at the annual general meeting.
