Fujitsu

Welcome to the Fujitsu pages of the PCS website!

PCS continues to grow it’s influence in Fujitsu.

Our members provide crucial IT support to major government projects for DTI, DVLA, Government Offices, HMRC, Home Office, MOD, and ONS and play a critical role in the delivery of vital public services.

A number of PCS members will have transferred to Fujitsu from the client department however we continue to see more interest from Fujitsu employees who are beginning to see the value of trade union membership in a fast changing world of work.

On this website you will find regular reports and updates on the work we are doing for you and we hope this will encourage you to join and to play an active part in PCS.

Each Account is represented on the PCS Fujitsu Group. As well as dealing with contract level issues, our Group representatives have access to senior managers in Fujitsu and we are using that influence to improve the position for our members in the UK. Our objectives are to:

  • Maximise PCS membership activity in Fujitsu.
  • Ensure job security and protect our members terms and conditions.
  • Provide protection for members against the impacts of offshoring and changes to work processes.
  • Enhance well being through good job design, strong employment policies and enhancing skills.
  • Make sure workers are consulted about policies and actions that might affect their jobs.
  • Make sure the company listens to and acts in the best interests its employees.

Andy Fryer is a representative on the DVLA account and also sits on the company Employee Forum. He is well placed to see the difference PCS can make.

Governments decision to outsource employees to the private sector throws up many challenges to a trade union. Over the years our representatives have been able to defend our members against the worst aspects of privatisation as well as securing real improvements for members. With increased membership we can achieve more and make sure the company acts in line with our priorities.”
