Members say Yes to 2010/2011 Pay Offer

Pay Update Issue 06.10

Following the pay ballot held over the last two weeks, including meetings held in Blackpool, Durham and Glasgow, PCS members have voted to accept the company’s Pay offer for 2010/2011 worth an overall 4% on the paybill.

The final results were as follows:

Votes in favour of offer        Votes against Spoilt papers
381 141  0

SIS has been notified of the outcome and the company is currently arranging with payroll for pay increases to be paid in June salaries with back payments to be included in July salaries. Payment of the 2011 increase will be made in January 2011 salaries.

This is a reasonable turn out for a membership consultation. The GEC would like to thank all members who took the time and effort to participate in this consultation exercise which, in comparison to 2009, has reached a swift conclusion. We acknowledge the support and input from members during this year’s negotiations, which have again been a major factor in reaching agreement with SIS. Whilst we very much appreciate that we did not realise our claim in full, our members within the PCS Siemens Bargaining Unit have once again achieved a settlement which compares extremely well with settlements elsewhere. This has been against a backdrop of pay freezes, job losses and initiatives to drive down costs including pay.

PCS acknowledges the efforts made by SIS in making a negotiated settlement possible. We again thank all members who, collectively, as always played a very important part in the overall process.
