Workplace consultation meetings

The NEC has agreed the speaker's brief and proforma for use at the members' meetings.

You can also feedback on-line from members' consultation meetings.

Arrangements should by now be in place to hold workplace consultation meetings.

Here are a few activities branches can use to help build a successful event:

  • Approach management about holding a meeting, as facility time has been granted to discuss CSCS as soon as possible.
  • You should try and hold a meeting in your workplace, with a speaker who has already attended a regional PCS briefing. Please try to hold your meetings and get the feedback in before 5 October so we can influence the government consultation. However the NEC has agreed all workplace consultations should be held by the end of October. Please make every effort to meet this schedule.
  • Publicise the meetings to members and potential members.
  • Download the posters and flyers from print them off and display them in your workplace. If you want to publicise the meeting on the PCS website contact your group office or national web officer michael@pcs.org.uk
  • Use this as an opportunity to speak to and recruit potential members. Use the recruitment form produced specifically for the consultation exercise and encourage potential members to join PCS and attend the consultation meetings.
  • Make sure you have relevant documents available at the meeting: speakers’ brief for the speaker, frequently asked questions for members and a copy of the full proposal.
  • Complete and send in the consultation pro-forma after your meeting: in order to understand members’views on the government’s proposals we need to receive as many of the completed consultation pro-formas following the meetings. You can either send the pro-forma back to cscsconsultation@pcs.org.uk or submit your feedback online on-line.
