When strike action is taken some members may suffer hardship as a result. That is why we have set up a fund to help alleviate that hardship as best we can. The more money we collect the more we can do. Giving money to the hardship fund also allows members who are not invoved in any action to help out.
Thank you to all those members who took part in the strike action or helped with picket lines.
There was a great deal of press coverage - here are a selection of the headlines.
Is it really as tough as it sounds?
On the 1 March the Union sent the 2010 pay claim to the Secretary of State.
In reality the spend was probably higher.
In a pamphlet written by the Council they called for the abolition of the Highways Agency. The Union wrote to them about their proposal. Now you can read their response.
