DSA pay deal imposed - but where is our say?

12 February 2010

The Union is balloting members in DSA on their pay offer. Rather than await the outcome of the vote, senior managers have imposed the offer.

In the middle of the ballot, PCS received a letter stating that the pay offer will be imposed at the end of February.

This is typical of the way that pay is addressed within the DSA and the wider civil service. It used to be the case that staff were allowed their say via a ballot as to whether to accept or reject a pay offer. Obviously in this case democracy takes too long. Despite the imposition the Union is continuing with the ballot. Unlike DfT we care what staff think.

Please vote in the pay ballot, the SEC recommends that you vote NO and reject the offer.
