So even as an exit scheme is being run in the centre DfT has 278 non civil servants on the pay roll. We are certain that the 82 consultants and 99 contractors cost the department far more than their civil service equivalents.
The mantra is cut expenditure, cut costs; when are these type of costs going to be reduced? Or is the axe only going to fall on us.
