PCS members in English Heritage have been presented with a pay offer that will introduce:
The proposals form part of a three year deal (2008-2011) and the impact will have a devastating affect on staff in the lower bands and in Visitor Operations, as the proposals will affect our members’ future pension entitlement and annual pay increases.
While English Heritage management plan to reduce our members’ salaries, they are looking to reward other staff in the organisation with large pay rises.
We think it is unfair and will hamper the ability for English Heritage to continue its important work, as our members will be demoralised and some may even have to leave if their pay is reduced any further.
Our members provide vital support to specialist staff and are essential to attracting visitors, educating school children and promoting the organisation and its work on the hundreds of sites across the country.
