HO/MB/17/11 advised members of the overwhelming vote in favour of industrial action in response to the Home Office’s campaign to slash jobs and victimise PCS reps. Members voted in favour of the action by a majority of 82.4% to 17.6%.
PCS have today advised the employer that we will be inducing members into continuous industrial action short of a strike from 31 March 2011.
From 31 March 2011, members are asked to refuse to work overtime. Picket lines will operate in areas were management offer overtime and members are asked not to cross them.
From 31 March 2011, members are asked to embark on a work to rule. Further guidance will be issued next week on exactly what this will entail.
Maximum support for the industrial action is required if we are to move the employer from its current position. We call on all members to support the action and to send a clear message to Home Office management that we are united in our efforts to secure our members futures.
The Trades Union Congress has organised a march for all those opposed to the cuts programme. This will be a massive demonstration and all PCS members, your friends and your families are urged to attend. View more details on the march.
