PCS members involved in the juxtaposed allowances dispute have voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action. On a massive turnout of 72% for a postal ballot, the result is as follows:

Meeting with Immigration Minister

PCS met with the Immigration Minister Phil Woolas yesterday to press our case. We were accompanied by John McDonnell MP from the PCS Parliamentary Group, and Gwynn Prosser MP for Dover. The Minister agreed to consider the points we raised and we are hopeful that he will intervene to facilitate a negotiated settlement. However, we must continue to prepare for action. We will keep members informed of developments
