Identity and Passport Service

The PCS group in Identity and Passport Service (IPS) represents nearly 3000 members at all locations across the organisation.

Our members carry out a wide spectrum of work from all grades from PO1 to Grade 7. For Grade 6 and above the appropriate trade union is FDA. The IPS is part of the Home Office.

The group is made up of a number of regional branches which include the appropriate interview offices, regional offices, general register office and headquarters.

Each branch has an executive committee which is elected annually. They are the union reps who will deal with local matters.

The Union’s policy is driven by our annual conference, which branches can submit motions for.

Throughout the rest of the year, the group executive committee (GEC) are responsible for the day to day activities and campaigning in IPS.

The GEC is made up of 6 officers and 12 members. They are supported by the group secretary, Beth Lamont.
