Justice Forum

Who we are and our aims

The justice forum is a consortium of justice sector trade unions - PCS, Napo, POA, UNISON and UCU - which:

  • co-ordinates the interests of those working in and using the justice system
  • exchanges information
  • campaigns jointly on issues of common concern
  • works to achieve a fair, open and equally accessible system of justice for all citizens
  • holds conferences and arranges parliamentary debates on key issues
  • works closely with the justice unions' and family courts
  • unions' parliamentary groups.

Recent activity

Over the past year or so, we have increasingly worked alongside the Police Federation of England and Wales and have improved our links with organisations working within the justice sector.  We are looking to work much more closely with justice sector organisations and academics who fully support our aims as this will boost our lobbying, campaigning and media strength.

In April 2008, the justice forum held a conference. As a result of the conference, on 9 June 2008 a very successful rally and lobby of members of parliament were organised in Parliament. You may find a summary of the conference on our report section.

Since then, the forum has been instrumental in planning for and building activity towards the 'justice under stress' action week. Find out more on our justice week page.
