Further nominations sought for defence sector Instructional Officer Group Committee (IOGC)

The annual cycle of elections to the IOGC has seen the election of a new committee. However, due to the electoral system two vacancies remain unfilled on the IOGC. At the inaugural meeting of the new committee it was agreed that further nominations for the posts should be sought.

The following posts will be up for nomination and potential election:

  • Vice chairperson
  • Organiser

Timetable


The following timetable is in place for the elections process:

  1. Nominations to be received at PCS HQ from branches by noon Friday 22 January 2010.
  2. Acceptance of nominations and election statements to be received at PCS HQ by noon Friday 29 January 2010.
  3. Election results midday Friday 19 February 2010.

Process


Branch meetings or BECs may nominate candidates to stand for election by completing the form IOE1 and returning it to PCS by noon Friday 22 January.

Upon receipt of the nominations, HQ will issue form IOE2 for candidates to accept or decline their nomination and to complete their election address if necessary. This form must arrive at PCS HQ by noon Friday 29 January.

Restrictions


Only current instructional officers who are PCS members or existing committee members may be nominated for election.
