Our union has been contacted by a number of branches and members expressing concerns about the Future Logistics Information Systems (FLIS) project.
Specifically PCS members have raised concerns about:
Our union’s representatives are engaged with the FLIS people working group, and we have now agreed that PCS will meet with the project management team to put forward members’ concerns.
We will be ensuring that the MOD fully adhere to both the Cabinet Office protocols on job security and the people consequences of outsourcing/privatisation and also the agreement PCS has signed with DESS that commits the employer to the avoidance of compulsory redundancy and relocation.
Our position is that no member should be collocated or outsourced against their will and that the process should move forward on the basis of agreement.
We are also seeking to agree a delay to the issuing of letters to staff on the provisional outcome of the post mapping process. This has not yet been agreed by management however. We need this delay to allow meaningful talks to take place.
Further information will be issued by our union as soon as we have met with the employer. We will be inviting branches to attend a PCS meeting on FLIS shortly. In the meantime branches and members are asked to contact the group secretary, Paul Barnsley at paulba@pcs.org.uk with specific questions, concerns or issues that need to be put to management.
