Scotland

This is a 3-day course aimed at new branch reps.

This course aims to develop your understanding of how PCS works as well as developing your skills and confidence. It is also a valuable opportunity to network with other local reps.

The course covers all aspects of union activity including:

• Your role and rights as a rep
• How PCS is organised and how policy is made
• The role of branches, groups and associations
• Resolving local issues
• Recruiting new members.

The course is designed to equip reps with the basics they need to know to allow them to identify areas of interest where they may like to undertake more training and begin to develop in their role as a rep.

Through the activities you will also develop transferable skills that will assist you in your role representing members.
