Campaigns eventMeeting to launch the Merseyside Public Sector Alliance
As expected, the budget has hit the public sector hard with a two year pay freeze, the threat of job losses and cuts and an attack on pensions.
We do not accept that cutting public sector jobs and services is the right course of action to get the UK out of recession. We will work together to campaign in workplaces and in our communities to vigorously oppose these politically-driven cuts that will make public sector works pay for an economic crisis caused by speculation on the financial markets.
Speakers: Peter Middleman, PCS Regional Secretary
Avis Gilmore, NUT Regional scretary
Plus FBU and Unison. Chaired by Alex McFadden, Merseyside Trades Union Council.
