Dyslexia Awareness in the Workplace - a two day course - Leeds

13 - 14 July 2010

Training course
Yorkshire and Humber

This is a follow-on course for Lay Tutors and Union Learning Representatives who want to improve their understanding of dyslexia and how it affects people in the workplace.

The course involves individual activities, group work and discussion as well as finding out information from your employer and outside sources. It is NOT designed to make you into a ‘dyslexia expert!’ but to introduce you to some of the key issues facing individuals, trade unions and your employing organisation. In particular, the course aims to help you to:

  • understand the most common traits and behaviour associated with dyslexia;
  • understand the barriers to learning at work faced by people with dyslexia;
  • consider how you might support colleagues in the workplace who are experiencing difficulties associated with dyslexia.

The course will be held on Tuesday 13th July and Wednesday 14th July 2010.
