Osborne's smoke and mirrors review will still hit families hard

26 November 2015

Commenting on today's analysis of the impact of George Osborne's autumn statement, PCS general secretary Mark Serwotka said:

"George Osborne said in his statement the Tories still plan to cut £12 billion from social security and it was clear the cuts to tax credits were just being deferred until later in the parliament under universal credit.

"The expert analysis has now confirmed that, despite the smoke and mirrors, families will still be hit hard and those who are less well off will suffer the most."
