The judges will be looking for publications that:
• Understand and communicate our members’ priorities and concerns
• Are relevant to the audience
• Are innovative and imaginative
• Include decent quality photographs, which are appropriately used, and an attractive design
• Make good use of the available resources
• Come out regularly, not sporadically and are a priority for the branch/group
• Avoid overuse of jargon and acronyms
The judges will be looking for articles that:
• Focus on members’ concerns
• Are written in plain language
• Include quotes or case studies of PCS members
• Are presented in a visually interesting way
• Avoid the overuse of jargon and ‘union speak’
The judges will be looking for electronic communications that:
• Are kept up-to-date and/or regularly updated
• Are attractive and intuitive to use
• Are relevant to the audience
• Use innovative methods to campaign or get PCS’s messages across
• Are interactive and involve members
The judges will be looking for photos that:
• Are relevant to the audience
• Reflect members’ concerns
• Enhance the publication and article they illustrate
• Are in focus, well framed and of a decent quality
• Have a visually interesting composition
• Reflect the diversity of our membership (where members are represented).
