Equality advice line for reps

1 May 2008

Reps dealing with individual cases concerning discrimination can get advice and guidance from the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

The commission now operates an advice line, staffed by an experienced adviser, for telephone or email support on the following technical aspects of making a claim:

  • Sex discrimination, equal pay, age and sexual orientation legislation
  • Whether or not a claim is likely to be viable
  • Comments and guidance on the relevant questionnaires
  • Tribunal processes and procedures.

The information provided is not intended as formal legal opinion. The EHRC website provides detailed information on the law and taking a claim.
