Help for members in hardship

4 March 2010

PCS is asking other unions and supporters to back the strike next week by making donations to a hardship fund.

A national account has been set up from which money will be distributed to supplement group hardship funds.

The union asks branches and groups to establish funds to help members struggling because of industrial action they are taking in defence of their jobs and the services they provide to the public.

Members are asked to contact their group office or branch to find out whether they have established a hardship fund.

PCS members will be on strike on Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 March over imposed cuts to the civil service compensation scheme, redundancy pay for civil and public servants. Strike day rallies are being held across the UK.
