PCS has now established an office in Belfast, courtesy of our sister union NIPSA, at 40 Wellington Park.

The office is set up with phone, fax, computer, internet and PCS intranet, the later allows PCS reps to access all the current up to date PCS information.

PCS also has access to meeting rooms of various sizes and these facilities are also available to PCS branches, to book a room all branches have to do is contact one of the committe officers.

The office is not currently staffed but messages are picked up on a regular basis.

Bid to the union learning fund

If the joint PCS and NIPSA bid to the union learning fund is succesful then the office will be staffed by two part time PCS and NIPSA employees delivering union learning for our members. We should hear from the Department of Education and Learning by Friday 20th June if our bid has been successful

PCS members in Ireland have played a key role in the PCS national campaigns as well as local campaigns on office closures and low pay.

Regional committee for Ireland

The regional committee for Ireland (RCI) is committed to further campaining activities and is determined to deliver for PCS members in Ireland.

The committee can only be at its most effective if all branches take part in the decision making and campaigning.

If your branch is not currently involved, see the newsletter for branches currently active, then ask your branch officers why not or contact one of the RCI officers direct.

From parliamentary campaigning to industrial action, the regional committee for Ireland has been at the forefront of protecting members jobs and terms and conditions.

The committee now needs your support and involvement.

Send us an email or give us a call if you are interested in becoming involved or you have a skill that could be used to benefit PCS members.
