PCS has now established an office in Belfast at 40 Wellington Park, courtesy of our sister union NIPSA.
The office set up includes access to the PCS intranet which allows our reps to access all the latest PCS information.
PCS also has access to meeting rooms of various sizes which are also available to PCS branches. To book a room all branches have to do is contact one of the committe officers.
The office is not currently staffed but messages are picked up on a regular basis.
The joint PCS and NIPSA bid to the union learning fund was succesful and we are now in the process of recruiting a ULR project worker in Belfast.
The regional committee for Ireland (RCI) is committed to campaining and delivering for PCS members in Ireland.
The committee is most effective when all our branches take part in decision making and campaigning.
If your branch is not currently involved, see the newsletter for branches currently active, then ask your branch officers to contact one of the RCI officers direct.
From parliamentary campaigning to industrial action, the regional committee for Ireland has been at the forefront of protecting members jobs, terms and conditions.
The committee now needs your support and involvement.
Send us an email or give us a call if you are interested in becoming involved or you have a skill that could be used to benefit PCS members.
At the regional committee AGM held on the 11 July Karen Taylor was elected vice chair and Gail Matthews was elected to the committee. The two previous occupants of these positions were unsuccessful candidates in the election. Both Karen and Gail are from the Northern Ireland Revenue branch.
Commiserations to the unsuccessful candidates, Andy Magee and Mary McSherry, and thanks from the RCI for all your support of RCI activities over the last year.
