In an attempt to ward off grammatical gremlins and such like, I thought it prudent to highlight bloopers, which I have been told have occurred in church bulletins and sermons!

  • The Fasting and Prayer Conference includes meals.
  • Ladies, don’t forget the rummage sale this weekend. It’s a chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house.Bring your husbands.
  • Miss Mason sang ‘ I will not pass this way again’, giving obvious pleasure to the congregation.
  • The primary 7 class will be presenting Shakespeare’s Hamlet in the church hall this Friday night at 7pm. The Congregation is invited to this tragedy.

Clive Jenkins European Study Bursary 2008/09.

The TUC Educational Trust offers two bursaries of £800 each to enable trade union members to visit a European Union country in 2008/09. These bursaries are from a trust established by Clive Jenkins.

The aim of the visit will be to study an aspect of trade unionism, training or employment and to write a report for TUC Education. Applicants need to plan their study project and to estimate costs. Healthier lives for Deaf people

Deaf and hard of hearing people in NI will be at the centre of the ‘Healthier Lives for Deaf and Hard of Hearing People’ Project, to develop their own package of holistic support.

It is about increasing options and quality of life through increasing opportunities and access to education, employment and leisure activities for the deaf and hard of hearing community.

Gulliver’s Travels:

Did you know that Jonathan Swift’s satirical book was inspired by the profile of Cavehill in Belfast?

It is also the theme for the Belfast City Carnival on Saturday, June 28. ‘Gulliver’s Circus’ will include floats; stilt walkers, costumes and hundreds of performers will parade through the city centre before finishing at Custom House Square at around 3pm.

also takes place over the weekend of June 28 and June 29, and will include tall ships, a continental market and entertainment at Clarendon Dock and Queen’s Quay.

Among the activities on offer is BBC RaW’s Circus bringing storytelling and writing to life for all ages.

Last year over 26,000 people visited BBC’s Max and Lara’s Amazing Travelling Space Circus - a Family Storytelling Festival - as it travelled across the UK. Educational Guidance Service for Adults (EGSA))

are partners with the BBC as the RaW Circus comes to Belfast and staff will be on hand offering a range of activities, fun packs for all the family and information and guidance to help you make choices about your learning.
