Health & Safety

PCS negotiates on all aspects of occupational health and safety for all staff working in NOMS and is consulted on all Health & Safety PSO and Guidance notes. We are also responsible for ensuring that we have an effective Health & Safety Organisation throughout the NOMS Group. Quite candidly although we continue to negotiate policies that create a healthier and safer working environment we need effective safety representatives and safety committees in every workplace to ensure that these policies deliver desired outcomes.

Covering this body of work is a small team of GEC members that are responsible for all Health & Safety matters. They also form the PCS delegation to the NOMS Accommodation Health & Safety Sub-Committee which meets on a quarterly basis.

This section will contain information on current issues, reports on negotiating meetings, future training courses, best practice and the wider health and safety bargaining agenda.

In addition to the above there is a Group Accommodation Health & Safety Sub-Committee which again meets on a quarterly basis and comprises of the GEC team plus all Branch Health & Safety Officers from each PCS NOMS Branch
