The Penal Policy and Operations team deals with how NOMS operates as part of the Civil Service: its role in the criminal justice system and the penal policy issues surrounding crime and punishment. It also covers how NOMS is organised and works: its structure, its planning and performance and its efficiency agenda. Finally, this patch covers the policy NOMS has in regards to its treatment of prisoners.

The team also provides a delegation that along with other NOMS TUS officials meets with Prison Service Management at the Joint National Whitley Operations Sub-Committee.

It is envisaged that in this section you will find minutes of Operations Whitley Committee meetings, reports from members of the team and any other relevant documents.
