Public sector group

The PCS Public Sector group (PSg) covers around 16,000 PCS members in over a 100 national branches which are outside the mainstream civil service groups.

For example, we have members working for parliamentary bodies,, public bodies (NDPBs), government commissions, regulatory bodies, research councils and non ministerial departments.

Our group was established in 2000, following a conference motion which identified the need to give stand-alone branches more support and organisational assistance.

We hold an annual conference, issue regular bulletins of interest to Public Sector group branches, and ensure that branches like yours can play their full role in PCS campaigns and activities.
