The PCS Regional Development Agencies (RDA) group represents civil servants who work in all nine RDAs throughout the country.
Unlike big government departments, RDAs are relatively small non-departmental public bodies (NDPBs) so it is important that the voice of staff in RDAs is heard.
With this in mind, a group of RDA workplace reps got together at the PCS annual delegate conference in 2005, and formed the RDA co-ordinating committee.
The committee has a representative from each of the RDAs.
The committee meets every two months and holds its co-ordinating committee conference as part of the PCS annual delegate conference.
Simon Elliott, Northern Regional Secretary of PCS is Secretary to the RDA Co-ordinating Committee. For full contact details of the co-ordinating committee and PCS full time officials look at the RDA group contacts directory.
Each RDA now has its own separate home page in the RDA group contacts directory section. If you have any information which you would like to see included on your page, please contact Simon Elliott - simon.elliott@pcs.org.uk.
During the transition leading to the eventual abolishment of the RDAs by March 2012, the RDA Co-ordinating Committee will focus on representing members across the RDAs to the best of its ability and actively participating in negotiations of staff transfers into BIS, DEFRA etc.
PCS is your union, and we always need people to get involved. Talk to your branch secretary and get involved in organising the union in your workplace.
Two members from each RDA are welcome to attend each of the RDA co-ordinating committee's meetings.
If you are a PCS member and are interested in coming along to a future meeting, talk to your workplace rep, branch secretary or PCS full time official at the PCS regional office. You can find their contact details in the group contacts directory.
This form is for RDA employees who wish to join PCS. Return it to your PCS workplace rep, or send it to the address on the form.
