RDA group action plan

The RDA co-ordinating committee launched its action plan at its group conference on 20 May 2008 in Brighton.  The action plan sets out how the committee will campaign and better serve PCS members working at RDAs during 2008-2009.

The action plan sets out to achieve the following goals:

  • to campaign for improved pay, terms and conditions
  • to campaign for a single pay deal across all RDAs
  • to increase PCS membership density throughout the RDAs
  • to be recognised as the trade union for all RDAs
  • to achieve Group status within PCS
  • to challenge bullying and harassment
  • to improve communications to our members through the website, Newsbriefs and press releases/articles
  • to lobby MPs and ministers
  • to organise a group Conference in 2009
  • to challenge the use of consultants in RDAs

PCS professional and managers' association

Rrepresentatives from the Co-ordinating Committee attended the  PCS PMA Professional  Managers' Association meeting on 8 October 2008 at PCS' headquarters in London.

It was suggested that a pilot learning project be rolled out potentially at South West Regional Development Agency  early in the new year.

A learner survey/questionnaire is in draft stages and a follow-up meeting is planned during the week commencing Monday 10 November 2008 between Marie Morgan of the PMA and Andy Youl, Branch Chair, SWRDA.

If the pilot is successful, it is the intention that the pilot is rolled out more widely in the future.  A further PMA Steering Group  meeting is also planned in January 2009.  More information on this will follow as plans are confirmed.

Visit the PMA section of the PCS' website for further information on the PMA.
