Making a claim

To make an application for assistance under the scheme you need a PCS personal injury claim form.

  Personal injury compensation claim form

Please complete the claim form, retaining a copy for your reference. The completed form should be signed and returned to:

  • By post to: PCS legal and personal case department 160 Falcon Road, London SW11 2LN
  • By email to: PIHelpline@pcs.org.uk

Please ensure that you have read and understood the terms and conditions of the PCS scheme before you submit your claim form.

If the form does not cover all aspects of your case, or there is insufficient room, feel free to make additional comments on a separate sheet of paper, making sure you enclose it with the form, and keep your own copy.

Claims will be pursued where there are reasonable prospects of recovering compensation at the end of the case.

How a claim is investigated

Under current arrangements for the PCS personal injury compensation claim scheme, claim forms are allocated to either Thompsons solicitors, Russell Jones and Walker solicitors or Bolt Burton Kemp.

It is therefore important that claims are submitted through the PCS legal and personal case department, telephone: 0207 801 2651 so that the appropriate solicitor can be allocated the claim in line with agreed arrangements.

Every claim form received is acknowledged within 7 days and the member is advised which of the firms of solicitors is to have conduct of their claim.

At the same time the member is sent an information guide which explains the different stages involved in investigating a claim and includes a glossary of the common terms and phrases used by solicitors in personal injury litigation.
