Personal case numbers continue to increase – mainly as a result of increasingly diverse rules and procedures combined with the impact of job cuts and general pressure on staffing and other resources.
As employers try to get the same work out of fewer workers and provide fewer training opportunities to managers, conflict is almost certain to increase.
For many PCS members, and for the union itself, it is vital that the support offered to members experiencing difficulties in the workplace is effective and robust. To handle such cases effectively, we believe that they need to be dealt with at the most local level possible.
We offer a range of training courses to support reps in dealing with personal cases effectively and we also provide guidance and support through internal PCS structures.
