There is a clear distinction between PCS's national campaign for a return to national civil service pay bargaining and the separate departmental and agency pay negotiations which continue at present.

In calling for a return to national civil service pay we need to be realistic in that it will not be achieved overnight, and may not be achieved without a fight.

In the meantime departmental and agency pay negotiations continue. PCS will continue to press for the best possible deals we can achieve. In attempting to shape tomorrow's pay, we will not be forgetting today's pay.
