Learning and skills

Learning and skills have a significant impact on the quality of working life, progression and earnings.

The government is keen to increase the skills of its workforce and the skills strategy for government means that this topic is now an important part of the PCS bargaining agenda.

PCS wants to ensure that the skills agenda delivers real benefits for members as well as for the employer, and in all organisations where we have members.

PCS supports members and reps in undertaking training and provides a range of courses and independent learning opportunities.

PCS is seeking to set up union learning agreements in every workplace and our network of union learning reps (ULRs) plays a vital role in opening up opportunities for members.
