VOA Pay Claim for 2008: membership consultation

Thanks to all members who have been involved in the Campaign for fair pay in the VOA and who have supported the national pay campaign events.  A crucial part of taking forward our demands is the claim that we make to the VOA for the 2008 pay round.  The VOAC are seeking the views of all members on the detail that should feature in this year's pay claim.  As a PCS member in the VOA this is your opportunity to tell us what you think our priorities should be for 2008.

Have your say

Despite the overwhelming rejection of the 2007 pay offer by PCS members that same offer was imposed on VOA staff at the start of this year.  90% of members this year have therefore received pay rises worth far less than increases related to actual cost of living increases, with a general rate increase of only 1.25%and no increases to general terms and conditions

We remain in dispute over the pay offer for 2007. We will continue to use the mandate established in the industrial action ballot to take appropriate action over the coming months to keep reminding VO management and to raise awareness of the dire pay situation in the VOA.

Formulating and submitting the pay claim for 2008 is an important part of our campaign for fair pay in the VOA.  Our aim is to submit the claim to the employer by mid-May for the next settlement due on 1 August 2008.

The Valuation Office Agency Committee is asking for your views regarding the detailed content of our claim.  Please send in any comments or suggestions by Friday 9th May 2008 using the form form attached to the leaflet below to feed in your views or by emailing your comments and suggestions to voa2008pay@pcs.org.uk
