PCS suspend national strike

7 November 2008

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) met this morning and have decided to suspend the industrial action planned for Monday 10th November and the overtime ban proposed to commence on Tuesday 11 November.

The employer has agreed to a 28 day extension to the limitation of the current mandate for initiating industrial action to midnight 11 December 2008. PCS and the Civil Service will now take forward discussions to address the concerns that form the basis of the current dispute.
