The cuts which threaten the jobs and conditions of more than 500 staff were announced by chief executive Paul Grice last week following a decision of the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body which is made up of representatives of the four main parties.
Lynn Henderson, PCS Scottish Secretary told congress “30% of the parliament’s budget is made up of MSP costs including salaries and allowances, making it more likely that staff will bear the brunt of these savage cuts.
These cuts are part and parcel of the wider attacks on the public sector throughout Scotland and the UK .”
