This is the official website for anyone interested in joining PCS in the Security Indusry Authrity (SIA).

The SIA is the regulatory body for the security industry in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.

We are a non-departmental public body responsible directly to the Home Secretary. The sectors we currently regulate are door supervision, close protection, security guarding, public space CCTV, vehicle immobilisers and key holders.

We have around 170 people working in the SIA a number of who are remote workers.

Recognition

We won recognition in February 2009 and signed our recognition agreement in June 2009. PCS is the largest civil service union and we have 300,000 members.

Pay

2009 pay negotiations have concluded and we are now entering into a membership ballot on the offer.
