The PCS, is seeking assurances from the Treasury that future of the Merthyr Tydfil based HMRC (Customs and Revenue) office is secure. HMRC have embarked on a UK wide office closure programme and a decision on the Merthyr office, which employs 70 staff, is imminent.

A leading civil service employer has had to take urgent action to prevent its lowest-paid employees from falling below the threshold of the National Minimum Wage when it increases on Wednesday.
