After 'yes' vote, local activists meet to take forward campaign

26 February 2010

Following the big 'YES'/'YES' vote in the industrial action ballot on the Civil Service Compensation Scheme, activists' committees across Wales will be meeting next week to co-ordinate local activities.

The area campaign meetings will be taking place as follows:

  • South-West Wales: Tuesday, 2 March, 1.00 - 3.00 pm in the Penlan Social Club, Heol Gwyrosydd, Penlan, Swansea, SA5 7BT (following DVLA AGM).
  • North-East Wales: Wednesday, 3 March, 12.00 noon - 2.00 pm in the 'Eliseg' room at Glyndwr University, Plas Coch, Mold Road, Wrexham, Clwyd LL11 2AW.
  • Newport: Thursday, 4 March, 11.00 am - 1.00 pm at the Office for National Statistics, Government Buildings, Cardiff Road, Newport NP10 8XG.
  • Cardiff & Vale: Friday, 5 March, 12.00 noon - 2.00 pm in the PCS Wales office, Phoenix House, 8 Cathedral Road, Cardiff.

All reps in branches covered by these areas are invited to attend the above meetings. The agenda will include activity at the workplace, political lobbying and contact with the media. This planning will make a big contribution to the message we are seeking to send to the employer: PCS members will not stand by and allow the government to take away their redundancy rights.
