The main civil service union has reacted with shock after staff at the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) in Swansea were banned from circulating a petition to save Swansea Coastguard.

Members of the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) were shocked today (Tuesday, 19 July) to hear that Jobcentre Plus management are proposing to close Caradog House Jobcentre in St Andrews Place, Cardiff. The announcement also included plans to close 19 other jobcentres across the UK.

A PCS rep in the Welsh Government has been suspended by management in connection with the union's campaign to prevent the proposed closure of offices in Caernarfon, Llandrindod Wells and Newtown.
