Swansea tax workers protest against service cuts

Continuing the union's campaign to defend jobs and public services, PCS members from our HMRC West Wales branch organised a protest outside Swansea tax office today, supported by the local MP, Geraint Davies. The members were opposing plans by the department to make drastic reductions to service levels.
Protest against the cuts in Cardiff this Saturday!

Members of PCS and other unions - along with anyone else concerned about the government's onslaught on jobs and public services - will be gathering in Cardiff on Saturday (5th March) to say 'NO' to the cuts.
Vote 'YES!' for Wales on 3rd March

On 3 March, the people of Wales will be asked to vote on whether their National Assembly should have increased powers to make legislation. If this is agreed, the new powers will enable the assembly to pass legislation in the areas for which it already has responsibility, without needing the approval of the UK Parliament. In other words, laws that apply only in Wales will be made in Wales. It will not extend the assembly's responsibility into new areas like justice or defence, nor will it create new tax-raising powers.

Petition to save Cardiff DSA office

PCS reps in the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) have set up an online petition as part of their campaign to save the Agency's Cardiff office from closure.
