National March against Fascism and racism 21 June

PCS is supporting Love Music Hate Racism (LMHR) and Unite Against Fascism (UAF)’s national demonstration and carnival parade against fascism and racism on Saturday 21 June in London. Spread the word, join the demonstration!

Assemble 12 noon, Tooley Street, London SE1 (behind GLA City Hall, near Tower Bridge). Nearest station: London Bridge. March to: Trafalgar Square W1.

Campaign Launch

The event will be a national show of unity which will boost anti-fascists and launch the next stage of the stop the BNP campaign in the run up to next year's European Parliament elections.

In the wake of the election of the BNP’s Richard Barnbrook to the Greater London Assembly (GLA), and of other new BNP councillors in other parts of the country, trade unions and other anti-fascist organisations have to come together to show that we anti-fascists are the majority.

The demonstration is an opportunity to show our opposition to fascist and racist organisations like the British National Party (BNP) who gained seats in the May elections. There will be a march and carnival parade including floats, marching bands, speakers and banners from a huge range of organisations opposed to fascism and racism.

Flyers are available from the regional office.

Downloadable flyers and posters are also available at www.uaf.org.uk. For more information about LMHR see their website.

Coaches

Coaches are being booked from around the country, including areas with sitting BNP councillors, e.g. including Stoke-on-Trent, Burnley and Rotherham.   Information on getting on one of the coaches can be found at Love Music Hate Racism's website.

Love Public Services Hate Racism

PCS ADC 2008 resolved to campaign for members of far-right political parties to be banned from working within the civil service. It is vital that we prevent racists and fascists from working in services so that the public are assured that extremists are not able to discriminate against members of the public - including ethnic minorities, women, disabled, lesbian, gay, transgender and bisexual people.

The far right in Britain already has an unprecedented number of elected representatives. The BNP are seeking to advance further onto the national and European political stages and they pose a real threat in the forthcoming European elections. Join the demo - together we can stop the BNP from turning their GLA win into a respectable platform for spreading their politics of hate in London and across the UK.
