Yorkshire and the Humber region

YandH Map These pages are for the 23000 PCS members and representatives who live and work in Yorkshire, North and North East Lincolnshire, in the 52 branches comprising the Yorkshire and the Humber region.

The primary function is to give members and representatives access to information about the work of the regional office, the Yorkshire and the Humber regional committee, and Y&H specific activities and issues.

Stella Dennis, the regional secretary, comments "Working with members and branches to develop our campaigning work is one of our main priorities."

The main role of the office is to:

  • Act as a focal point for all main PCS activity in the region
  • Assist branches in Y&H in recruitment and organising issues
  • Negotiate access to new employers
  • Campaign on national and local issues
  • Promote workplace learning in the region
  • Organise trade union education in Y&H
  • Play a full role within the regional TUC

PCS members join Unison and Unite in action over pay

PCS is taking action alongside Unison and Unite, whose members in local government will be on strike on 16 and 17 July, and Unite members in the health service who are holding a day of action on 18 July.
