Defence Sector Group Elections 2018
Nominations are sought for DSg posts as set out in the election regulations, see Annex B, below.
It is group policy that all candidates who wish to stand for election to the group executive council (GEC) must accept responsibility that they must be subject to accountability decided by the GEC, DSg conference, national conference and any full electoral ballot.
Nominations are particularly welcomed from members from under-represented groups, which in this group includes women, black minority ethnic groups (Asian, Chinese, Caribbean, African etc...), disabled, young and lesbian, bisexual, trans and gay members. The union has reviewed the group election procedures to ensure consistency with those used for the national elections. As a result there are a number of changes that have been made in the way that the DSg conducts these elections and branches should read these revised regulations carefully.
Completed nomination forms must be submitted by 5pm on Thursday, 8 March, 2018.
The Nomination form (Annex D) and acceptance form (Annex B) can now be submitted by fax to 02920 666 501, but this method can be unreliable and we recommend you use other means if possible.
Election addresses cannot be submitted by fax.
An electronic copy of the election address is now mandatory and should be in Word format and sent to DSG@pcs.org.uk
The closing date for election addresses and acceptance is 5pm, Thursday, 15 March, 2018.
Annual General Meetings – Outcome of Branch Elections
The recording of activist data has been centralised and the membership department now has responsibility for all activists’ amendments and updates.
Any amendments received should be forwarded to email@example.com or contact the membership department on 020 7801 2670. The balloting office will be issuing an outcome of Branch Elections pro forma with the national election paperwork.
